Banking on a good turnout16th December, 2014
An insight into the finer points of the UK’s recovering economy is on the agenda for business leaders from across the Telford area.
Telford Business Partnership is once again set to host its annual meeting with The Man from The Bank of England – Graeme Chaplin, on January 21, 2015.
The event will take place at The Park Inn, in Telford, and it’s the fifth consecutive year that members will have welcomed such a high profile bank representative to their New Year meeting.
TBP Chairman, Robin Melley, said: “This is always one of our most popular events of the year, and the 2015 gathering looks set to be yet another success as it’s already almost fully-booked.
“Graeme’s presentation always attracts an excellent turnout, and with the economy showing real signs of recovery, we’re all very excited to hear what he thinks the future will bring.
“It’s been a long hard road for many businesses and now that most of us have weathered the storm, it will be very interesting to learn more about the way things will pan out over the coming months.
“And in the run-up to next year’s General Election, with the impact a change in Government could have on the economy, an independent bank‘s perspective will be particularly interesting to hear.”
Graeme was appointed as Agent for the West Midlands & Oxfordshire in November 2008. He joined the Bank in 1992 and has undertaken a variety of roles in Threadneedle Street, including banking supervision, economic analysis and financial stability monitoring.
Robin said the annual event was an excellent opportunity for members to ask an industry expert the questions they felt were the most important to their individual business.
The breakfast meeting is one of a series of networking events organised by TBP throughout the year, with the aim of encouraging business and professional services firms to share opportunities and join forces for ongoing business success.
The events are free to TBP member, with guests welcome to attend if numbers allow. TBP is a growing network of business and professional services companies who promote the diversity and quality of their services to local firms and those relocating to the area.« Back to News
